Kinja'd!!!

Let's say you're a small business owner who's starting to expand and make some serious money. You're old work truck just isn't cutting it anymore. It's on it's last legs and you need to be at work everyday.

Like any smart business owner, you set a good budget that you can easily afford. $45k. You miss driving coupes like how you did back in college, and your kids are all grown up now so it's not like you need a backseat.

Now let's say your small business just happens to be very patriotic. Go America!! Now what kind of business owner would you be if you sold products that proudly say "made in America" if you drive to work in a Euro sports sedan or import sports car!? Domestics only. And because of reliability, you only want a post 2000 car. You'd love an old muscle car, but your wife doesn't find them safe enough.

Now let's say your also at that middle part of your life where you have a crisis. To feel young again, you just have to buy something showy and fun. Automatics are for old people, you have to be able to shift into neutral and rev everytime someone walks by! Just like those Subaru kids you saw having a blast at that car meet you went to!

What do you pick? I'd go for a Dodge Challenger SRT-8. And yes, it is a 6MT because pistol grip shifter. And yes, it is plum crazy.

How about you?

2004 Cotvette Z06 Lemans edition. What's more patriotic than a corvette with a hi performance v8 with a little red white and blue thrown in?

The Ford F-450

You can easily buy a used one for under $45K, you can find them with manual transmission, standard RWD, fun (twin-turbo diesel torque), and very showy (wider than any Challenger). Not a coupe but definitely American. Also, your new work truck.

A new Muscle Car? Challenger seems to be the right choice to me as well. That, or a Mustang, or a Charger, though the Charger is a sedan.

I was sure to set the price under what a new base model C7 costs. Because that's the easy choice haha

I really like that color. It reminds me of that popular color on 350z's I used to always see.

You just can't go wrong with orange cars. I used to love the burnt orange Trans-Ams.

25,000 for a good one!
2006 Ford F150 with about 50,000 can run you about 20,000 bucks!

As a 6MT Challenger owner I fully support the choice to go with an SRT8. But, do some research because most of them are made in Canada. Not sure if that is close enough to made in America for you.

As long as it's an American brand, it should be fine. Most people wouldn't know where they are mad anyways haha

Yeah it's surprising how many American brands make their cars elsewhere and how many "foreign" companies build their cars here. I know most of the Challengers are made in Canada, of all the models its most likely the SRTs are made here. If you have the VIN you can check it against this to see where it was made:

VIN PLATE DECODING INFORMATION

1 = Country

2 = Make

3 = Vehicle Type

4 = Other

5 = Line

6 = Series

7 = Body Style

8 = Engine

9 = Check Digit

10= Model Year

11= Assy Plant.

12 -17 = Plant Sequence No.

The following table interprets the VIN Plate position shown above.

Digit / Position Interpretation Codes = Description

1 Country of Origin;

1 = Manufactured By Chrysler LLC

2 = Manufactured By Chrysler LLC, Canada

2 Assembler;

D = Dodge

B = Brampton Assembly Plant, Canada

By the way, what business are you in? I make a lot purchases where I work and I always like to support Made in the US companies.
